Harlequin Romantic Suspense
Powerful romances are at the heart of each story, with page-turning suspense playing out between complex characters. In addition to wanting diverse authors and stories, HRS editors are looking for the next great suspense-filled romance, especially if it features strong Western, family, first responder, military, law enforcement, or serial killer themes.
Harlequin Special Edition

In Harlequin Romance, real, relatable characters experience the sheer rush of falling in love. While the series continues to offer stories with a low sensuality to readers, editors are currently looking for stories that offer a higher level of sensuality and sensual tension than previously. Stories which are not sexually explicit but explore the sensual chemistry between the couple matched with high emotional connection. They can include scenes that go beyond the bedroom door to explore the emotional fulfillment that comes with intimacy.

Editors would love to see uniquely told stories in a wide range of medical settings—ground-breaking medical work, for example, and international exotic and cosmopolitan settings such as Sydney, New York, LA, Hawaii, London, Paris, Rome Caribbean, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Iceland and beyond.
These are intense, contemporary romances filled with passion, luxury and scandal in the lives of American elites. These are community-oriented stories set in North American small towns and neighborhoods that bring two people together in a sweet and wholesome contemporary romance. We are looking for stories that focus on heroines and heroes surrounded by friends and family who support their uplifting love story. Currently, we are particularly interested in stories with western settings, professions and themes.
